cut into corrugated drain pipage, how exercise I gear up?

Outset time home possessor. I was tilling a niggling patch of garden that was infested with weeds with a tiller I borrowed. Turns out in the corner of it was running the blackness corrugated drain pipe.
I institute out as I saw the ground sink in a chip and betrayal the pipe later the rain.

I can dig the area out with a shovel, my question is this:
Will I be able to screw in one pipe into the other, and then seal up with electric tape (several rolls of it I would imagine). Or exercise I need to run w hole new pipage all the manner down the stop of the property?

i wouldn't worry well-nigh it as well much (no need to use a whole curlicue of tape!) unless this is correct nigh the firm with the potential to make a mud pit.

I would use section(s) nearly 8-xiv" cut lengthwise to join the good parts, then use some bailing wire or hose clamps to tighten information technology up. Make certain the separate is at the top of grade. Also backfill any gravel bed yous may accept tilled upwards in the trench.

You volition probably need to cut out the damaged area. Buy a x' pes piece and a coupling. The 10' piece should have a coupling congenital into one finish. The couplings work by pushing them together with the pipe. Push very difficult. I don't remember for sure, simply it "clicks" over a corrugation either 2 or three times. It's pretty evident one time you purchase the parts. Make sure you lot get information technology all the mode together though. In other words measure inside the coupling and then make sure when they are joined that they joined fully.

Electrical tape is for electrical wires. It will not "seal" anything. In this case, the pipe does not need to be sealed. Once it is joined properly that is all that is necessary.

This aint rocket science. But labor. Dig the pipe back in both directions. Stop cutting it in half. Cutting out the badness. Put one of these on: »www.lowes.com/ProductDis ··· Id=PDIO1
Bury information technology. No electrical tape required.

Depending on simply how much damage you did to the piping, you tin can also get past, past wrapping the damaged expanse in a few thicknessness of landscape material. If yous've really washed a number on the pipe, then a couple of couplings and an appropriate length of new pipe can be installed, or the flex "elbow" section can exist utilized quite effectively. At that place are a number of suitable fixes for your state of affairs, depending on the extent of the damage washed... and your own power/willingness to apply the required amount of "muscle". At that place is no demand to replace any more piping than is really damaged, though. Splice in a new department if the damge is also all-encompassing for the flex-elbow fitting to bridge the gap, or wrap a smallish pigsty with mural textile. All you're trying to practice is forbid the pipe from filling with dirt. Do whatever is the easiest for you to deal with. A moving-picture show or ii would aid, but probably isn't all that necessary.

Over the years of assisting the grounds-keeper of the local high schoolhouse'due south able-bodied fields, I've probably handled more 4" corrugated perforated drain piping than most people have ever seen. I've installed, literally, several miles of the stuff and encountered but about every problem at one time or another.

If you are anywhere near roots of any sort, observe some fashion to seal it well. I want to strangle whoever decided that loose-fit piping was OK for my yard drainage. I have roots infiltrating nearly every articulation. It'd be even worse with this corrugated stuff, since you lot tin can't actually snake it out.

I used some of this to prepare drainage in my new house. Screw digging all the pipe up.

As the damaged role is likely on acme and that pipe probably never fills up to any amount to worry near, it sounds similar that method would be more than than sufficient. Equally you say, multiple wraps and given the minor diameter, you can probably become it pretty strong and keep the weight of dirt from collapsing information technology.
